I understand restaurants have good and bad days but this experience was unacceptable.
We come to the area often and definitely won’t be coming back. We were pretty much begging for service and it just wasn’t happening. Not one restaurant employee came and checked on our table. We asked one of the girls for a side of wing sauce and she proceeded to roll her eyes and ask somebody else to grab it for us. There was a group of front of house workers sitting at a table next to us on their phones the entire time we were there. We weren’t given any napkins or utensils and had to get up from the table and track down a server to grab us some. We waited about an hour for our food and when it came out it was cold and bland. We ended up standing at the bar for 20 minutes until we finally were able to put in an order for food and drinks.

I’m not one to trash a restaurant publicly because I worked in the industry for over 10 years but this was so bad I feel like I have to. Offering everything from appetizers to burgers, steaks, pastas, pizzas, and seafood, if you can’t find a dish you want, you’re not trying hard enough! We don’t have favorites, we love every single meal they serve, so our suggestion to you is if that Cast Iron Seared Scallops looks appealing, or if your mouth started watering at the thought of that Swiss Mushroom Burger, to just do it. The waitstaff is friendly and personable, and having mastered the art of unobtrusiveness, appear when needed but fade away into the background, allowing guests to enjoy their meal in peace and harmony! With its log cabin-esque exterior, forest green trim, and matching awning, Nick’s Lake House in the Poconos is designed to blend into its surroundings-except for that view! A large deck provides extra seating overlooking the lake, but those inside won’t be missing out floor to ceiling windows provide the same views while keeping out the unwanted parts of nature! Inside, the décor is simple, as the owners prefer keeping the focus on the food and views and not some unnecessary tchotchkes or trinkets that just collect dust. Located on the site of the first hotel and restaurant on Lake Harmony, the history of the place adds to its charm and appeal.
